Looking for a unique challenge as a participant of the Community Game-Along? Test yourself with these special contests for different prizes (prizes being bragging rights and maybe special icons in your card on the participation page).

Participants who can get one bingo will earn a special icon on their participation card. But how many bingos can you actually get? Read on for what each panel means in detail. The CGA icon in the middle is a free space. Download the bingo card above (or screenshot it if your browser makes it hard to download pictures here), and then fill it out as you progress through the month. You may post about your progress on social media, or share your progress via DM in the Chic Pixel discord, or through BlueSky @communitygamealong.

The Pillars: Play a #SHMUPtember eligible title released in either the 70s or 80s from Taito, Atari, and Namco. For example, play Space Invaders, Asteroids, and Galaxian.

#SHMUPtember Streamer: Join the chat of someone streaming a #SHMUPtember eligible game.

Horizontal: Play a horizontal shooter (something like Gradius or R-Type).

On Foot: Play a run and gun shooter (something like Contra or Metal Slug).

2000s: Play a #SHMUPtember eligible title that was originally released in the 2000s.

Top Ten: Can you crack the top ten on the high score board of an arcade SHMUP?

Heaven or Hell?: Play a bullet hell (like Ikaruga) or a bullet heaven (like Vampire Survivors).

Blending Genres: Does your #SHMUPtember eligible game incorporate elements of other genres, besides shoot 'em up? Tell us about it!

Horizontal: Play a vertical shooter (something like Gradius or R-Type).

90s: Play a #SHMUPtember eligible title that was originally released in the 90s.

Paws: Play or promote the game Wild Guns Reloaded. Trust me, Paws will thank you later.

The 10s: Play a #SHMUPtember eligible game that was released in the 10s.

Rail: Play an on-rail shooter (like Space Harrier or Star Fox).
